is an excellent season to explore the stunning countryside
of Japan’s Kansai region.
Come and discover back roads to enchanting out of the way places
including; old temples and shrines, historic castles, towns and villages,
and then soaking in a hot spring after a great day of cycling. Delight in
ripening persimmons, golden Susuki grasses, Japanese
hospitality and sumptuous local cooking amidst the changing autumn colours.

Starting in Nara, the Autumn Discovery Cycle Tour will journey into
rural Kyoto Prefecture and continue into Shiga.  The route encompasses
the top of Lake Biwa (Japan’s largest lake) and goes along its eastern
shore to visit the castle town of Hikone and old canal town of Omihachiman,
before heading to Kyoto city to experience the famous temples, shrines,
gardens, and other cultural treasures.
